Sport as an analogy to the daily work routine, and for life in general. When things get tough, and even painful, visualizing the right things in your head is decisive. So-called "green thoughts", says Elisabeth Rendl, who is responsible for personnel development at Bründl. So, how do I overcome my inner "demons" and get the most out of myself? Not by floating about aimlessly, but instead homing in on new records, including new sales records.

From Kaprun to Morocco

With that in mind, the Nature Workshop is able to work true wonders. Even power athletes, who don't have much patience with endurance sports in general, are able to push far beyond their limits, says Elisabeth. The goals the teams set in consultation with fitness coach Michael Mayrhofer and mental trainer Heini Lechner were surpassed without exception. Ultimately, the employees were able to run a total of 2,822 kilometers, about the same distance as from Kaprun to Tangiers in Morocco.

As they tackled the courses at Schloss Mittersill, in Piesendorf, Leogang and South Tyrol, a side program insured that the fun wasn't neglected either. An announcer kept the runners in good spirits with humorous interjections - Elisabeth calls it "doping for the ears" - and later there was a full-blown awards ceremony with all the bells and whistles. And because no one would ever claim that Bründl is an inhumane company, the next day employees were even allowed to use the elevator at the Flagship Store. Normally it is reserved for customer use only.
