Using a skilift with a snowboard

Using a skilift with a snowboard

Especially in the beginning, using a skilft with a snowboard can be a challenge. Here are a few helpful tips for you:

  • When using the lift, one foot must be released from the binding. The back foot stays in the binding, while the front foot is used for pushing yourself along.
  • To move efficiently towards the lift, it's important that the binding opens easily but still provides security while riding.
  • For getting off the lift, it’s recommended to push yourself away from the lift and place your back foot on the board while gliding out. Even with the loose binding, you’ll be able to steer just fine.
  • Once you've reattached both boots to the bindings, you're all set for the next run.

FAQs about snowboard boots

Snowboard boots are the general term for all boots used in snowboarding. Soft boots are a special type of snowboard boot with a soft and flexible construction. They offer greater freedom of movement and comfort and are often used in freestyle and all-round snowboarding.

The Boa® system works with a precise dial closure that uses steel laces and a spool. By turning the dial, the boot tightens evenly and can be quickly adjusted to the foot. To release, the dial is pulled out, which immediately loosens the tension.

Yes, you can indicate your preferred model when renting snowboard boots. We will do our best to consider your request during preparation. However, an exact model booking is not possible and we cannot guarantee the availability of a specific model.

Yes, a free model change is possible. You can change your snowboard boots at any time during the rental period, depending on availability.

For rentals, your foot length is measured directly in the shop. Based on this, we select the right size and suitable model together with you. This ensures that your snowboard boots fit well and are comfortable.

On a chairlift, you should unstrap your back foot and sit down calmly. Keep your board stable when getting on and off and slightly lift the tip when exiting. On a drag lift, stay strapped in with both feet, keep your body relaxed and distribute your weight evenly to stay balanced.
