In the countryside around Schladming and the Planai, there are numerous running trails with varying degrees of difficulty and gradients. You can set out from the town center in all directions. We would recommend beginning with shorter runs and less taxing climbs. Over the course of your vacation, you will then be able to gradually increase the intensity.
The beginners' tour in Schladming takes you from the town center to the neighboring village of Rohrmoos. Depending on what shape you are in, you can extend this run from 4 to 18 kilometers, with a pleasant combination of forest, meadows and roads.
Due to minimal climbs, the route in the direction of Haus im Ennstal is likewise suitable for beginners. With a total length of 14 kilometers out and back, you will already need to be in decent shape, of course.
If you love longer runs and more challenging climbs, you will find numerous options outside Schladming. Running trails up the Reiteralm and the Michaelerberg will definitely place demands on your athletic prowess.
The effort you put in will be more than rewarded by the beauty of the countryside. Green forests and meadows alternate with rugged cliffs and shimmering turquoise tarns. For (trail) runners, Schladming is a real paradise!
