Hiking trips for families and beginners

For inexperienced hikers and families with children, the countryside around Schladming offers a number of beautiful hiking trips. One of the most delightful of these leads out to the Duisitzkarsee lake. The pathway to this idyllic alpine tarn takes you mainly through forests. However, shortly before you reach your destination, you come to an open valley basin. Here you will find an alpine hut for refreshments as well as a playground for the kids.

Even though the weather might be good at the start of your hike, you should always have functional outerwear with you. That way, an unexpected rain shower won't spoil your hiking enjoyment one bit. With hiking clothes from the Bründl shop in Schladming, you can count on uninterrupted hiking adventures.

Challenging trips

Because of it's close proximity to the Dachstein massif, there are also many challenging hikes available in the area surrounding Schladming. Probably the longest of these is a circumnavigation of the Dachstein, which is only possible in several stages, each taking between four and seven hours. Hiking in an anti-clockwise direction, you will pass some of the most famous places in the Salzkammergut, including Bad Aussee, Hallstatt and Bad Goisern.

For such an extended hiking tour, having the right outdoor equipment is even more essential. Good hiking clothes protect you from moisture and frostbite. Even at the height of summer, bad weather in the mountains can often make for bone-chilling conditions. Learn more about the appropiate equipment at our Bründl shops.
