Alpine huts and summit experiences

From the state capital you soon leave the urban flair behind you. In just a few minutes you can reach mountains like the Untersberg range or you can travel with the Zinkenlift up the Dürnberg, where further alpine trips start. The difficulty levels vary from gentle family hikes to alpine challenges. In between there are food stations and alpine huts where you can stop for a rest or a revigorating snack.

Popular circular routes such as the Salzburger Almenweg lead right across the state and offer less experienced athletes a large choice of hikes. If you are looking for the summit experience, you can reach mountain ranges such as the Osterhorngruppe in just a few minutes by car - they have various destinations waiting for you and take you up to more than 2000m.

Whether you take on an easy or challenging hiking trip, you should always take appropiate outdoor clothing with you. This means you are always best prepared for a sudden change in the weather.

The mountain in the city

A special trip in Salzburg leads from the city straight to the top of Gaisberg. The "mountain in the city" is the ideal excursion destination for a challenging trip - without ever leaving the city limits.

There are also several cable cars that await you in the vicinity of the old city. Cable car hiking is a popular method in Pongau in particular, in order to take hikes to a "new level". This is because the start of a trip in alpine terrain promises different sensations to a hike in alpine pasture. But even if you opt for an ascension aid, you should be well prepared when it comes to your equipment. We will be happy to advise you individually and look forward to your visit!.
